It was this picture that made me begin this project. The idea that seeing a person whose image you are used to seeing in a certain way with a pet, can change your view of that person, or maybe just reinforce it.

Art Project: Famous People and their Pets

Grayson Perry and his cat Kevin

I was hoping to get a view of Grayson and Kevin together during the Second Episode of Grayson Perry’s Art Club (Channel 4, 8.00 p.m. on Mondays.) but Kevin is much too fast on his paws. I just kept getting glimpses of him disappearing around the furniture, and only one close up of his face and those marvelous eyes. Inspired by the programme i am going to have a go at a digital portrait.

Famous People with Their Pets

David Bowie and His Cat

At the beginning of this Blog I hoped that you might learn from my mistakes. This project must rate as one of the great learning experiences!. A photo of David Bowie with his cat appealed to me initially because his expression, and the cat’s seemed so alike. However it turned into a bit of an experiment.

I can’t find any information about the cat, Bowie was a great animal lover, and had many pets, including famously his dog, Rex who had, like David, two differently coloured eyes.
